World Alzheimer’s Month

“Today, there are more than 35 million people living with dementia worldwide. And Alzheimer’s disease is the only cause of death among the top 10 in America without a way to prevent, cure or even slow its progression. It’s going to take all of us to end this disease, but together, we can move toward a world without Alzheimer’s.” -alz.org

The month of September is World Alzheimer’s Month. The month is dedicated to raising awareness about this disease. The Alzheimer’s Association devotes itself to researching and discovering its cure.

September 21, 2011 is Alzheimer’s Action Day. The Association asks anyone and everyone to wear purple on this day to promote the month and everything it stands for! The Alzheimer’s Association’s website (www.alz.org) also offers a store on the site which is selling “purple products” raising awareness and proceeds for the cause. Some of these products include t-shirts, stickers, and even Bare Escentuals make-up.

Also, don’t forget about the Walk to End Alzheimer’s! It is coming to several local cities in the month. Check out the dates and locations or register a team at www.alz.org. The Elder Law Firm of Clements and Wallace P.L. hopes to see you there!
